A Bold New Identity
Mulliner, Bentley's personal commissioning division, has a history of creating some of the most iconic and bespoke vehicles since the company's inception. This time, for the ferociously powerful Continental GT Supersports, the focus is on a radical new
aesthetic. Mulliner has introduced a Design Theme package that gives the performance-focused grand tourer a head-turning new look. Limited to just 500 cars, this special treatment ensures that these models are not only blisteringly fast but also visually unforgettable. The centrepiece is a feature Bentley has never attempted before: a side-to-side exterior paint fade. This isn't a simple two-tone finish; it's a masterful transition of colour that flows across the car’s bodywork, creating an asymmetrical and highly dynamic appearance.
The Art of the Fade
The innovative paintwork is offered in three distinct and curated themes. The 'Dragon' theme sees a deep Black Crystal seamlessly blend into a vibrant Dragon Red II. Another option is 'Electric', which transitions from Dark Sapphire to a striking Electric Blue II. The third, 'Brodgar', offers a more subtle but equally complex fade from the deep Brodgar brown to a lighter Pale Brodgar. This visual shift is designed to place emphasis on the driver's side of the car. The effect is further sharpened by an off-centre racing stripe, enhancing the car's performance-oriented character. A painted number '8' on the front grille is another nod to the car's driver-focused nature.
A Cabin Divided
The bespoke treatment is not limited to the exterior. Inside, the asymmetrical theme continues with a stunning two-tone cabin layout that deliberately separates the driver's area from the passenger's. Using contrasting colours of supple leather and accent finishes, Mulliner has created a true cockpit experience for the person behind the wheel. For example, a car with the 'Electric' theme will feature a cabin of Imperial Blue leather, with vibrant Klein Blue accents strategically placed on the driver's side. This meticulous application of colour reinforces the car's purpose, making the interior feel as dynamic and driver-centric as the performance it delivers. Every stitch and panel reflects the precision and artistry that Mulliner is famous for.
Beyond the Paint
While the paint fade is the headline act, the Mulliner touch is evident in every detail. The package includes accent pinstripes on the carbon fibre diffusers, fender blades, and sills, tying the whole design together. Bentley’s commitment to using the finest materials is on full display, from the rich hides that require hours of careful stitching to the unique veneers and metal trims that adorn the cabin. This level of personalisation is what sets Mulliner apart, turning a production car into a piece of individualised art. This new Design Theme is more than just an option; it's a demonstration of how craftsmanship and daring design can elevate an already exceptional vehicle into something truly collectible.
