Day 1: Lower-Body Strength
Jacqueline kicks off her week by focusing on building a strong foundation with a dedicated lower-body workout. Sessions targeting the legs and glutes are crucial for overall stability, power, and metabolism. These workouts often involve controlled, strength-based
movements like squats, lunges, and deadlifts, which can be performed with weights or using just bodyweight. Building strength in the lower body supports posture and makes everyday movements easier and safer, providing a solid anchor for the rest of the week's varied activities.
Day 2: Outdoor Cardio Run
Breaking away from an indoor setting, Tuesday is often dedicated to cardio in the form of an outdoor run. She has been spotted jogging along Mumbai's Marine Drive, turning the city's landscape into her personal gym. Running is a fantastic cardiovascular exercise that builds stamina, improves heart and lung health, and is a great way to clear the mind. Incorporating outdoor runs adds variety and makes cardio feel less like a chore and more like an exploration. It’s a simple, effective workout that requires nothing more than a good pair of shoes.
Day 3: Padel for Agility
Mid-week brings a playful and dynamic workout with Padel, a racket sport that blends elements of tennis and squash. This activity is a full-body workout that challenges agility, reflexes, and coordination. It’s a high-energy session that burns calories while being incredibly engaging and fun. Playing a sport like Padel ensures the fitness routine remains exciting and less repetitive, working the body in reactive and unpredictable ways that a structured gym session might miss.
Day 4: Pilates for Core Control
Thursday is for focusing on the core with Pilates. This low-impact workout is a longtime favourite of Jacqueline's for its ability to build deep core strength, improve posture, and enhance flexibility. Pilates involves slow, precise movements that challenge muscle control and stability. It is excellent for creating a lean, toned physique and is particularly effective at strengthening the muscles that support the spine, leading to better balance and a more graceful posture in all other activities.
Day 5: Upper-Body Definition
Balancing out the lower-body day from Monday, Friday is dedicated to strengthening the upper body. This includes exercises that target the back, shoulders, chest, and arms. A strong upper body is essential for good posture and overall functional strength. While this can involve gym equipment, many effective exercises like push-ups, pull-ups, and rows can be adapted for any environment. This split routine ensures all major muscle groups are worked effectively throughout the week.
Day 6: Dance for Joyful Movement
As the weekend begins, Jacqueline turns to dance to keep her energy high. For her, dance is not just part of her profession but also a joyful form of cardio. A dance session is a fun and expressive way to move the body, improve coordination, and burn calories without feeling like a traditional workout. Whether it’s a choreographed routine or just moving to a favourite track, it’s a perfect example of how she makes fitness an enjoyable part of her lifestyle.
Day 7: Active Recovery at Home
Sunday is about lighter movement and active recovery. Instead of a high-intensity session, the focus is on gentle activity, which could be as simple as a home stretching session or playfully chasing her pets around the house. This approach acknowledges that rest and recovery are just as important as the workouts themselves. Light activity helps soothe sore muscles and prepares the body for the week ahead, proving that staying active doesn't always have to mean pushing yourself to the limit.
