On July 16, 2026, a landmark event took place at Mahindra & Mahindra's manufacturing facility near Pune: the three-millionth vehicle rolled off the assembly line. The vehicle, a BE 6 electric SUV, represents more than just a number; it signifies a massive
acceleration in production. While it took the Chakan plant 107 months to produce its first million vehicles after opening in December 2009, the most recent million were completed in just 27 months. This near four-fold increase in pace is a testament to surging demand, enhanced operational efficiency, and the strategic scaling of one of India's most advanced automotive factories.
Chakan: The Heart of Production
Spread across 657 acres, the Chakan plant is a cornerstone of Mahindra's operations and a showpiece for modern Indian manufacturing.
