The 'Common Person's' Premium Train
Before diving into the new routes, it’s worth understanding what makes the Amrit Bharat Express a game-changer for long-distance travel in India. Unlike the fully air-conditioned Vande Bharat, the Amrit Bharat is designed for the masses, offering a more
affordable yet significantly upgraded travel experience in non-AC sleeper and general coaches. These trains are equipped with features previously uncommon in budget-friendly travel, including cushioned berths, mobile charging sockets for every passenger, modern bio-toilets, and improved ventilation. The key innovation is the push-pull technology—a locomotive at each end of the train—which allows for faster acceleration and deceleration, reducing overall journey times.
A Strategic Boost to Connectivity
This expansion isn't just about adding more trains; it's a strategic move to bridge gaps in India's vast rail network. The new routes are designed to connect industrial zones, pilgrimage sites, and educational hubs with major metropolitan areas, making travel easier and more efficient for migrant workers, students, and families. The focus is on providing reliable and comfortable options on high-demand, long-distance routes that were often overcrowded. By linking states like Jharkhand, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, this expansion strengthens interstate connectivity and supports economic mobility for millions.
1. Dhanbad to Coimbatore
Connecting the coal capital of India, Dhanbad, with the industrial city of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, this route is a vital link between eastern India and the south. This service is poised to facilitate easier movement for both business travellers and individuals seeking to connect with family across this vast corridor.

This train will be a significant boon for the large number of people who travel between these two regions for work and other purposes.
