With 90% of imports at risk, the government was forced to take emergency measures, including cutting supplies to industrial users and boosting domestic production to protect the supply of cooking gas cylinders for its 330 million consumers. The crisis has also disrupted supply chains for other critical imports that travel through the Gulf, most notably fertilisers essential for India's agricultural sector.
From Global Conflict to Kitchen Budgets
