Understanding the New One-Year PG Degree Rules

However, the eligibility for these is very specific. As of now, only students who have completed a four-year undergraduate honours/research degree are eligible for this one-year master's program. Students with a traditional three-year bachelor's degree must still enrol in a two-year PG program. Furthermore, only institutions that are already approved to offer a two-year PG program in a certain discipline can offer the corresponding one-year version. This ensures that the academic standards remain consistent.
Decoding Entry Rules and Eligibility
Beyond regulatory approval, you must carefully scrutinise the specific entry rules of the program. This includes academic prerequisites, such as the minimum percentage required in your undergraduate degree, and whether you need to have studied a specific subject. Many management programs require scores from entrance exams like CAT, XAT, or GMAT. Check if the institute you are targeting accepts scores from the exam you have taken.
