As per the latest update, the CUET UG 2026 registration process is currently open on the official website, and there has been no extension announced yet. It is advised that candidates do not wait until the last minute to register.
CUET UG 2026 Registration Last Date and Important Timeline
As per notifications released by NTA and education websites, the last date for CUET UG 2026 registration, which began on January 3, will end on January 30 at 11:50 pm. Additionally, candidates must make sure that the application cost is paid by January 31 at 11:50 pm, or else their applications will be deemed invalid and incomplete.
Following this, the NTA will open a correction window between February 2 and February 4. Students can correct minor form errors during this period.
CUET UG is the national entrance exam for undergraduate courses in central universities, some state universities, deemed universities, and other private schools. The CUET UG 2026 exam is likely to be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode from May 11 to May 31. The exam will be conducted in 15 foreign centres, apart from the various test centres in India, which shows the growing reach of the national entrance exam.
Application Process and Guidelines
Prospective candidates must complete the application through the official NTA CUET portal before January 30. The steps usually include:
Registration: Create an account using your name, date of birth, working email address, and mobile number.
Form Completion: Enter personal and academic details, select preferred exam cities, and select up to five courses depending on the desired course.
Documents Upload: Upload scanned copies of the necessary paperwork, such as a signature, photo, and proof of identity.
Fee Payment: Pay the application fee online using UPI, debit/credit cards, or net banking before the January 31 deadline.
Confirmation: Download and save the confirmation page for later use.
Essential documents include a valid picture ID (such as an Aadhaar, passport, or voter ID), a Class 10 certificate verifying the date of birth, a Class 12 marksheet or school data (for appearing candidates), a recent photo, and category/PwBD certificates, if applicable.
CUET UG 2026 Registration Fees
Depending on the category and number of topics chosen, different registration fees apply for CUET UG 2026. While PwD and reserved category applicants are eligible for rebates, general category candidates must pay a higher fee.
UET UG 2026 is ₹ 1000 (General), ₹ 900 (OBC-NCL/EWS), and ₹ 800 (SC/ST/ PwBD/ Third Gender), based on the number of subjects and applicant category. Each additional topic costs ₹ 400 (General), ₹375 (OBC/ EWS), or ₹350 (SC/ST/PwBD).
Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The NCERT curriculum for Classes 11 and 12 is primarily in line with the CUET UG 2026 syllabus. Depending on the courses applied for, the computer-based exam will include language papers, domain-specific subjects, and a general examination.
