
Navratna railway PSUs: Shares of two railway public sector undertakings (PSUs), RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL),
are likely to remain in focus on Friday, September 11,2025 after both companies secured infrastructure contracts.
RailTel's Rs 103 Crore Order Details
RailTel Corporation of India, a government-owned telecom infrastructure services provider, has bagged two major orders valued at a total of Rs 103.45 crore. The project also includes operations and maintenance services. It is scheduled for completion by December 31, 2026.The larger of the two is a Rs 70.94 crore contract from Nashik Municipal Smart City Development Corporation Ltd. Under this project, RailTel will act as the Implementation Agency for the supply, laying, installation, testing, and commissioning of the Nashik and Trimbakeshwar City Network Backbone.
In a separate development, RailTel also received a Rs 32.51 crore order from the Panvel Municipal Corporation. This contract pertains to the Panvel Safe City Project and includes supply, installation, and services to provide SDWAN-based Internet Lease Line/MPLS Line connectivity at various locations.
The project is to be executed by March 19, 2031. Whereas these orders come shortly after RailTel’s announcement on September 9, where it disclosed having received multiple orders from various government agencies.
RailTel Share Performance
RailTel shares ended 0.79 per cent lower on Thursday at Rs 363. Despite the dip, the stock has climbed over 25 per cent in the last six months, and the company currently holds a market capitalisation of over Rs 11,656 crore.RVNL's Rs 169.49 Crore Order
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) announced on Wednesday, September 10, that it has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a key railway electrification project awarded by the West Central Railway.The contract, valued at Rs 169.49 crore (including applicable taxes), involves the design, modification, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 220/132kV/2x25 kV Scott-connected traction substation and switching posts with auto transformer (AT). It also includes SCADA integration between the BINA and RTA sections of the Bhopal division.
The project aims to support a freight loading target of 3,000 metric tonnes (MT) and is to be executed over a period of 540 days. RVNL clarified that the contract was awarded in the normal course of business and does not constitute a related party transaction.
