The regulatory troubles for InterGlobe Aviation Limited, the parent company of IndiGo, have deepened as the company has now come under the scrutiny of the market
watchdog, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), according to two people in the know. The scrutiny is expected to focus on possible violations of disclosure norms by the company. Information related to these disclosures has also been sought by the National Stock Exchange (NSE), sources said. “Earlier this week, we asked for some information about delays in disclosures made by the company on the exchange website. We expect this information soon and will relay it to the market regulator,” one of the people quoted above said. The delay is said to pertain to the airline’s announcements regarding notices issued by the aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), particularly the one sent on December 6.
While SEBI undertakes the necessary proceedings, the exchange is actively seeking information from the airline. Any regulatory action will be taken by SEBI once the details are shared with it.

Meanwhile, the DGCA held a meeting with the airline on Thursday. IndiGo briefed the regulator on key issues including refund status, baggage return, crew and pilot strength, flight rescheduling, and the reasons behind the massive flight disruptions. The airline also discussed providing additional vouchers to affected passengers.
IndiGo said it has already processed most refunds for cancelled flights, with the remaining ones to be completed soon. Refunds for tickets booked through travel partners have also been initiated. The airline acknowledged that passengers travelling on December 3, 4 and 5, 2025 faced long delays and were stranded at airports due to heavy congestion.
IndiGo will offer affected passengers a travel voucher of Rs 10,000, valid for any IndiGo flight over the next 12 months. This is in addition to the compensation mandated under government rules. As per the guidelines, IndiGo will also pay compensation of Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 depending on the flight block time for cancellations made within 24 hours of departure.
