Kim, in his resignation letter dated 14 October 2025, stated, “I hereby tender my resignation as Managing Director & Director of Hyundai Motor India Limited (‘Company’) w.e.f. close of business hours on December 31, 2025 as I am returning back to South Korea to a strategic role at Hyundai Motor Company.”
Kim also stepped down from roles including Chairman of the Board and General Meetings, Chairman and Member of the Risk Management Committee, and Key Managerial Personnel.
Hyundai Motor India said shareholders have approved the appointment of Tarun Garg as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 January 2026.
Alongside Kim’s resignation, three senior management personnel also resigned effective 31 December 2025: Jeongick Lee, Function Head – Corporate Affairs; Hyoung Soon Yoon, Function Head – Product Strategy & Planning; and Jae Wan Ryu, Function Head – Corporate Planning.
