What is the story about?
The Andhra Pradesh government has approved two investments worth ₹1,000 crore from the Raymond Group for aerospace and automotive component manufacturing units in Sri Satya Sai district. The projects are expected to create over 5,400 direct jobs.
The state will provide incentives worth ₹700 crore under the industrial and aerospace policies to support the projects.
According to government documents, JK Maini Global Aerospace Limited, a Raymond Group subsidiary, will set up an aerospace manufacturing facility with an investment of ₹510 crore, generating around 1,400 jobs. The facility will manufacture precision components for global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier-1 suppliers. Commercial operations are scheduled to begin by May 2027.
A second Raymond subsidiary, JK Maini Precision Technology Ltd, will invest ₹430 crore in an automotive component manufacturing unit at Gudipalli, expected to create 4,096 jobs. This unit is also targeted to commence production by May 2027.
The projects were cleared at a meeting of the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, following recommendations from the State Investment Promotion Committee.
Officials said the Industries Department will facilitate implementation through a Project Management Unit and the Single Desk Portal 2.0.
This marks Andhra Pradesh’s first aerospace investment under its new Aerospace Policy and follows Google’s recently announced $15 billion AI data hub in the state.
