NEW YORK, Aug 25 (Reuters) - JPMorgan Chase is hiring Dan McDow from Citigroup to head its east coast technology investment banking business, according to a memo seen by Reuters.
McDow will join JPMorgan in New York later this year, having spent the past four years as Citi's global head of software investment banking, said the memo from Chris Grose and Greg Mendelson, global co-heads of technology investment banking.
An investment banker with two decades of experience,
McDow spent much of his career at Credit Suisse before joining Citi, added the memo, the contents of which were confirmed by a JPMorgan spokesperson.
Citi declined to comment.
The hiring of McDow is the latest by JPMorgan in its technology investment bank, at a time when dealmaking in the space is buoyant thanks to recovering valuations within the software space and ongoing activity linked to the growth of the artificial intelligence ecosystem.
David Fishman will join JPMorgan later this year as head of North America technology mergers and acquisitions from Bank of America, Reuters reported last week. Both Fishman and current Head of Technology M&A Vineet Seth, who is being elevated to vice chair of investment banking, will sit on JPMorgan's newly-formed Technology M&A Leadership and Advisory Council.
