Sept 13 (Reuters) - Dell CEO Michael Dell's DFO Management is leading a planned $7.7 billion take-private deal for insurance brokerage firm The Baldwin Insurance Group, the Financial Times reported on Sunday.
DFO Management and Sequence Holdings are in advanced talks with Baldwin over a deal which is expected to value the U.S. insurance distributor at $32.50 per share, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
That would be a premium of about 10% compared to its price of $29.65 per share
as of Friday's closing.
The transaction for Baldwin is expected to be announced as soon as Monday, the FT said.
Reuters could not immediately verify the report. Baldwin Insurance Group, DFO Management and Sequence Holdings did not respond to requests for comment outside business hours.
Baldwin, which is valued at around $4.14 billion according to LSEG data, provides risk management solutions, insurance advisory, and tech-enabled underwriting to businesses and individuals.
Backed by 8VC, Conviction, and Lux Capital, Sequence Holdings acquires established companies in the service economy and modernizes their operations with in-house software.
Tampa-based Baldwin said in July that its adjusted diluted earnings per share increased 14% year-over-year to 48 cents in the second quarter of 2026, and the company's total revenue increased 30% year-over-year to $492.9 million.
