What's Happening?
Great Clips, the world's largest hair salon chain, has announced the appointment of Rob Goggins as its new president and chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2026. Goggins will succeed Steve Hockett, who is set to retire at the end of 2025. Goggins has been with Great Clips for 18 years, serving as president since January 2018, where he oversaw various aspects of the company including expansion, talent development, and operations. Prior to this, he held the position of chief operating officer and senior vice president of real estate and development. Rhoda Olsen, vice chair of the board for Great Clips, expressed confidence in Goggins' ability to drive strategic growth initiatives for the company's 600-plus franchisees across the United States and Canada.
Why It's Important?
The leadership transition at Great Clips is significant as it marks a new chapter for the company, which is a major player in the salon industry. With Goggins at the helm, Great Clips aims to continue its growth trajectory and maintain its position as a leading salon brand. His extensive experience within the company and understanding of its operations are expected to facilitate the execution of strategic initiatives that could enhance franchisee performance and customer satisfaction. This change in leadership could also impact the broader salon industry, influencing trends in business operations and customer service standards.
