A tragic accident occurred on the Sichuan-Qinghai Railway bridge under construction, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals and leaving nine others missing. The incident happened when a construction rope broke on the Qinghai section of the railway around 3 am. At the time, 15 construction workers and one on-site manager were present. The bridge, located at the border between Jianzha county in the Huangnan Tibetan autonomous prefecture and Hualong Hui autonomous county in Haidong prefecture, is the first steel truss arch railway bridge in China to cross the Yellow River.
