Meta and Silicon Ranch Collaborate on South Carolina Solar Farm to Power Data Center

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has partnered with Silicon Ranch, a solar and community energy infrastructure company, to develop a 100-megawatt solar farm in South Carolina. This initiative aims to supply renewable energy to Meta's data center in Aiken, South Carolina. Silicon Ranch is investing $100 million in Orangeburg County for this project, which is expected to be operational by 2027. Meta will receive all renewable energy credits from the facility, aligning with its commitment to net-zero scope 1 and scope 2 emissions since 2020. This project marks the 18th collaboration between Meta and Silicon Ranch, contributing to over 1,500 MW of renewable energy capacity and $2.5 billion in investments across several states.
