What's Happening?
IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Hotel Eastern Nepal Pvt Ltd to open a Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Dhulabari, Nepal, by 2026. The hotel will feature 99 rooms and suites, along with amenities such as an all-day dining outlet, rooftop dining, a banquet hall, a fitness center, and parking facilities. Located near the Nepal-India border and Chandragadi Domestic Airport, the hotel aims to serve business travelers, tourists, and local guests, particularly from the commercial and agricultural sectors. This marks the second collaboration between IHG and Hotel Eastern Nepal Pvt Ltd, following the Holiday Inn Resort Kathmandu Budhanilkantha.
Why It's Important?
The development of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Dhulabari represents a significant expansion of branded hotel options in the region, which is expected to boost local tourism and business activities. The hotel's strategic location near key transportation hubs and pilgrimage sites positions it as a convenient choice for travelers. This expansion aligns with IHG's broader growth strategy in South Asia, where it currently operates 51 hotels across six brands and has a pipeline of 72 hotels set to open in the next three to five years. The new hotel is anticipated to become a preferred venue for meetings, conferences, and social events, contributing to the local economy.
