IperionX Secures $12.5M DoD Funding to Expand US Titanium Production

IperionX Limited has received $12.5 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) as part of a larger $47.1 million award aimed at strengthening the U.S. Defense Industrial Base. This funding will accelerate the expansion of titanium production capacity at IperionX's Virginia Titanium Manufacturing Campus to over 1,000 metric tons per year. The project is part of the Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) program, which prioritizes the expansion of domestic primary titanium metal production and manufacturing. The funding will be used to purchase long-lead, major capital equipment necessary for the next stage of capacity scale-up, including systems for titanium deoxygenation, sintering, and powder metallurgy consolidation.
