What's Happening?
Weichert Realtors is set to redevelop its headquarters in Morris Plains, New Jersey, located along Route 10. The redevelopment project, named Crossings at 10, will transform the existing site into a complex featuring over 160,000 square feet of office space, a self-storage facility, and ground-floor retail. The first phase involves renovating a three-story office building on Littleton Road, which will include 42,000 square feet of retail space below two floors of offices. This building will serve as the new headquarters for Weichert. Once the relocation is complete, the current headquarters building will be demolished to make way for six retail properties. The entire project is expected to be completed by late 2027.
Why It's Important?
The redevelopment of Weichert's headquarters is significant for the local economy and real estate market in Morris County. By introducing a mix of retail, office, and storage spaces, the project aims to create a vibrant lifestyle destination that could attract businesses and consumers alike. This development could enhance the area's commercial appeal, potentially increasing property values and generating new job opportunities. The project reflects a broader trend of mixed-use developments that cater to modern consumer preferences for integrated work and shopping environments.
What's Next?
As the project progresses, Weichert and its partners will focus on securing tenants for the new retail and office spaces. Leasing has already begun, although no deals have been finalized. The development team is in discussions with both national and regional businesses to create a diverse tenant mix that aligns with Weichert's brand. The completion of the first phase is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026, with the entire project expected to conclude by late 2027.
