The Delhi High Court has granted singer Kumar Sanu protection for his personality and publicity rights, ordering the removal of social media content that misused his name, voice, likeness, and performances. Sanu had approached the court seeking comprehensive protection of his identity, including his voice, style, images, and signature, from unauthorised commercial use that could harm his reputation. The plea, filed through advocates Shikha Sachdeva and Sana Raees Khan, also cited violations of his moral rights under the Copyright Act.

Renowned music composer Ilaiyaraaja’s Chennai studio was at the centre of a major security alert on Tuesday after police received an email claiming a bomb had been planted inside the premises. The message, which was also copied to the Deputy General of Police (DGP), prompted an immediate response from law enforcement. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), along with city police, quickly arrived at the composer’s T Nagar studio and conducted an extensive search operation. After several hours of inspection, officials confirmed that the threat was a hoax. Authorities later stated that the email appeared similar to other recent threat messages sent to prominent personalities across Chennai.

Tension erupted outside Assam’s Baksa District Jail on Wednesday when protests over singer Zubeen Garg’s death turned violent. A mob attacked a police convoy transporting five accused linked to the case, leading to scenes of chaos and arson. Crowds of Garg’s fans, who had assembled along the convoy’s route to demand justice for the late Assamese cultural icon, reportedly began throwing stones at the police van carrying the accused. The situation quickly escalated, forcing security personnel to intervene and restore order.
