Former NewJeans member Danielle Marsh made her first public appearance after her exit from the group by hosting a dual livestream on Instagram and YouTube on January 12 at 7 pm KST. The live session marked
Danielle’s first direct interaction with fans since her suspension and subsequent departure, and the K-pop star appeared visibly emotional throughout the broadcast.
Thanking fans for their unwavering support, Danielle shared updates about her life while reflecting on her journey with NewJeans. Fighting back tears, she revealed that she had done everything she could to remain part of the group alongside Minji, Hanni, Haerin and Hyein. Despite the pain of separation, Danielle insisted that this phase marked a new beginning rather than an end.
Ahead of the livestream, Danielle teased fans with a short note that read, “For those who waited.” Speaking in both Korean and English, she repeatedly paused during the broadcast to gather herself as emotions overwhelmed her.
In a YouTube broadcast titled Dear Bunnies, Danielle opened in Korean, saying, “Why are the tears already coming… This moment of saying goodbye still feels a little unfamiliar. ‘Thank you for waiting’ doesn’t feel like enough. Bunnies were right there the whole time.”
She continued in English, “Sometimes late at night I would read the letters and the messages you sent me. Not loudly, but just enough.”
‘I Fought Until the Very End,’ Says an Emotional Danielle
Danielle went on to describe how deeply her fans’ support had impacted her during the difficult months. “That warmth really lingers for a long time. Over this past period, I learned a lot and had a lot I needed to protect. The way I look at family, and the way I see the world, have both changed a little,” she shared.
Recalling her memories on stage, she added, “When I think of Bunnies, the first thing that always comes to mind is their eyes. The moments we met on stage, our very first stage, the silence right before the music… even when the music stopped, that feeling of our hearts staying connected. Those memories are quietly holding me up now.”
Speaking about her time away from the spotlight, Danielle revealed, “The past days — those days — I didn’t say much. I traveled, and I listened. I learned how to stay still. Under unfamiliar skies, I found myself again, and I kept stories meant for Bunnies in my heart.”
Addressing ongoing legal matters, she said, “There’s one thing I really want to say. Right now, a lot of things are still in the process of being sorted out. And when the time comes, I will update you all… about what’s happening, about the lawsuits, and about everything you’re curious about.”
She then added, “And this much I can say for certain. I fought until the very end to be together with the members. And that truth stays with me.”
‘This Isn’t the End, It’s a Beginning’
Concluding the emotional livestream, Danielle reassured fans of her bond with NewJeans and her hopes for the future. “In one corner of my heart, NewJeans is always there. Even if we’re in slightly different places, we’ll share the same heart and become one Bunnies — as by me, and as a family,” she said.
She ended on a hopeful note, saying, “Bunnies, this isn’t the end. It’s a beginning! In the days ahead — whether it’s music, silence, or small moments — I want to share them truthfully and beautifully with you.”
Danielle’s exclusive contract with ADOR was terminated on December 29, 2025, following which she officially exited NewJeans. ADOR has since filed a lawsuit against Danielle Marsh seeking $20.6 million (33.1 billion KRW) in damages, significantly lower than the 100 billion KRW penalty initially speculated.
