Yash’s much-anticipated film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has been delayed, with the makers confirming that it will no longer release on its earlier announced date. The film, directed by Geetu Mohandas, was initially slated for a June 4, 2026 release but has now been pushed to a later, globally aligned date as the team focuses on international distribution and positioning.
The makers took to Instagram to share a detailed note from Yash, explaining the decision behind the delay and the vision for the film’s release.
Explaining how the journey of the film shaped this decision, the note began by reflecting on the response it received so far. It read, “There are films we make, and then there are films that remind us why we fell in love with
cinema. Toxic has been one such journey. Presenting our film at CinemaCon and witnessing the overwhelming global response reaffirmed what we have always believed-that this film deserves to reach its fullest potential worldwide.”
Yash then directly addressed the delay, confirming that the earlier date will no longer be followed. The statement read, “Toxic is complete, and we are currently aligning global distribution and partnerships. In light of this, we have decided to recalibrate our release timeline. While we will not be releasing on June 4 as announced earlier, we will be releasing at a later, globally aligned date. Toxic will come to theatres across the world soon.”
The note also spoke about the larger vision for the film and its place in Indian cinema’s growing international presence. It added, “At a time when Indian cinema is finding its voice and stepping onto the global stage with such promise, each of us has a responsibility to raise the bar. As an actor – producer, I see this moment as an opportunity to do my part for the Indian film industry and for all of us by taking the time to ensure our film reaches the world with the impact it is meant to have.”

Ending on a personal note, Yash thanked audiences for their support and asked for patience as the film prepares for release. “Through every step and every change, your support has stayed with me, and I carry it with deep gratitude. Some stories ask for patience. Some journeys demand it. We promise to give you a film to enjoy and celebrate – a film that will stand as a proud moment for Indian cinema,” he said.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is positioned as a large-scale gangster drama with a global focus. The film marks Yash’s next major project after KGF and has been designed for a wide international release, with multiple languages and markets in focus.
