Etah (UP), Aug 27 (PTI) A woman was seriously injured after she allegedly attempted suicide by setting herself on fire following an argument with her husband here, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place in Guhtiya Kalan village under the Jethra police station area on Wednesday.
The woman, Rubina (35), suffered serious burn injuries and was taken to Veerangana Avantibai Medical College. After preliminary treatment, she was referred to a higher medical centre due to her critical condition, police said.
According to Rubina’s husband, Asif, the two argued over some issue on Wednesday. As the dispute escalated, Rubina allegedly doused herself with petrol and set herself ablaze in a fit of anger.
Station House Officer Sunil Kumar said police
were informed about the incident and a team was sent to the spot.
