Stephen Curry won’t be lighting it up in Los Angeles this weekend. Instead, it’s Brandon Ingram who’s packing his bags for the NBA All-Star Game.
The Toronto Raptors forward has been named as Curry’s replacement after the Golden State Warriors star was ruled out with a nagging right knee injury.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver made the call Tuesday, slotting Ingram into Team Stripes after Curry — a 12-time All-Star — was forced to withdraw.
Curry, 37, has missed four straight
games, and the Warriors are opting for caution. Coach Steve Kerr confirmed Monday that Curry will also sit out Wednesday’s game against San Antonio, keeping him sidelined through the All-Star break.
Second shot at the spotlight
For Ingram, 28, it’s All-Star appearance No. 2. He’s averaging 22.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game this season, powering the Raptors to a 32-22 record and fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
His first All-Star nod came in 2020 — the same season he claimed the NBA’s Most Improved Player award.
Toronto will be well represented in L.A. Scottie Barnes is set to feature for the USA Stars, while Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic will lead the World team.
A reunion denied
Curry’s absence also spoils a potential Olympic reunion. He had been slated to join LeBron James and Kevin Durant — fellow pillars of Team USA’s gold medal run at the 2024 Paris Games — on the USA Stripes squad.
This year’s revamped format features two U.S. teams and an international All-Star team competing in a round-robin mini-tournament before a final showdown.
The action tips off at the Intuit Dome, home of the Clippers.
Golden State, meanwhile, has bigger priorities than All-Star glitz — namely getting their franchise cornerstone healthy for the stretch run.
