Arjun Tendulkar and wicketkeeper-batter Siddhant Addhatrao are set to enter the T20 Mumbai League auction pool for the tournament’s fourth edition, with both players cleared to return to the city-based competition after recent stints with other states.
Tendulkar, who shifted from Mumbai to Goa a few seasons ago and has since turned out for the coastal state, and Addhatrao, who represented Puducherry last season, became eligible after fulfilling regulatory requirements. Addhatrao has reportedly secured a No-Objection Certificate from Puducherry following his appearances for them in the previous domestic campaign.
According to PTI, the BCCI has given formal approval for both Tendulkar and Addhatrao to be part of the T20 Mumbai League. The key factor
in their clearance was that neither cricketer has featured in any other state-run T20 league in the last 12 months, keeping them in line with the board’s participation norms.
The auction for the upcoming season, covering both the men’s and women’s categories, is scheduled for May 2, with the tournament itself planned for the first half of June, continuing the league’s early monsoon window on the domestic calendar.
“To maintain focus and prevent excessive exertion, each player is permitted to participate in only one officially recognised cricket league, excluding the Indian Premier League (IPL), during a twelve-month period commencing from the conclusion of the tournament in which they last participated,” as per the BCCI guidelines for state associations hosting T20 tournaments.
“For instance, if a player has participated in a Twenty20 tournament organised by a State Association, which concluded on August 31, 2024, they will not be permitted to participate in any other Twenty20 tournament organised by any other State Association until September 1, 2025,” it adds.
Within this framework, Tendulkar and Addhatrao fall comfortably inside the eligibility window, having stayed away from any T20 competitions conducted by state associations over the past year.
In the IPL, Tendulkar is currently part of the Lucknow Super Giants set-up in the IPL, while Addhatrao featured in Puducherry’s Ranji Trophy squad last season, ensuring both remain active in mainstream domestic and franchise cricket ahead of the T20 Mumbai League auction.
