will be travelling to the Karwar Naval Base in Karnataka soon. If a report by Bollywood Hungama is to be believed, the makers are planning a tribute event at the Naval camp since Ahaan Shetty is playing the role of a Naval officer in the movie.
“The team of Border 2 is heading to the Karwar Naval Base in Karnataka on Wednesday, January 14. It is a significant hub for the Navy as INS Vikrant – The Indian Warship is stationed at this base. The cast and crew of the film will meet the officers and sailors of the Indian Navy and have a celebratory interaction. The team of the film will hold a special tribute to them. Moreover, the songs of the film are also going to be showcased at this memorable event,” a source cited by the entertainment portal claimed.
“Ahan Shetty plays a brave naval officer in the film. Due to the naval connection, the team of the film felt it was fair to organise an event at a naval base and thankfully, things fell in place as they got the permission for it as well,” the insider added.
However, it remains unclear who all from the film’s cast will be travelling to Karnataka to meet our Naval officers.
About Border 2
Border 2 shows Varun Dhawan play the role of Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya PVC, who led his troops with unflinching courage during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, and was awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his heroism, India’s highest military honour.
During the song launch of the film, Varun emphasised that films like Border serve a larger purpose beyond entertainment, helping young audiences understand the importance of national security, sacrifice, and preparedness. According to Varun, such stories remain relevant because they reinforce the idea that peace must be protected with strength.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 also stars Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, and is scheduled to release in theatres on January 23, 2026.
