Filmmaker Subhash Ghai was one of the many notable attendees at the President’s At Home Reception in New Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day. Following his meeting with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati
Bhavan, Ghai shared a note, describing her as a “humble lady”. The veteran director also stated that the meeting was “inspiring”.
On Thursday, January 29, the 81-year-old dropped a post on his Instagram account, revealing that his interaction with the President prompted him to reflect on her journey and the path she has taken to reach the highest constitutional office in the country. Alongside his note, he posted a picture of the President greeting her guests with her hands folded. The Karz director was also seen doing a namaste.
Subhash Ghai On Meeting With President Droupadi Murmu
In the caption, Ghai wrote, “Meeting Hon. President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Republic Day was an inspiring moment for me to look into her story and journey of her life till date.” The filmmaker went on to praise the President’s simplicity and humility, calling her an inspiration. He also mentioned that her life story has the power to inspire writers and directors.
Subhash Ghai added, “One of the most simple, humble, and deep lady does inspire every good writer to make a movie on her journey to inspire every child of india that you can achieve this.”
Subhash Ghai Shares PM Modi’s Unique Quality
Previously, the Pardes director also revealed his excitement about meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the same Republic Day event at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Posting a picture on his Instagram account, in which PM Modi’s back was seen turned towards the camera, Subhash Ghai said that one of the most striking qualities he has is his ability to make connections through his eyes, more than words.
“A unique quality in personality in our honourable Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi jee is that whenever he meets you, he talks through his eyes more than words,” he said. The director continued, “I felt great when he greeted me with a smile by my name at home reception at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Republic Day. He does have a magician charm as a person, too. God bless him long, healthy life.”
The President’s At Home reception took place on January 26.
