A major accident occurred near Faridabad on Thursday when a crane overturned during the construction of the Jewar Airport flyover at Panhera Khurd, killing 3 workers and trapping multiple workers under debris and construction equipment.
Rescue operations were launched immediately after the incident, with emergency teams rushing to the site to pull workers from the wreckage.

According to eyewitnesses, the crane toppled while construction work
was underway on the flyover project linked to the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar.
“During the storm, a crane overturned. Two people have been rescued, but two to three people are still trapped,” eyewitness Sunil Kumar told ANI from the accident site.
Visuals from the area showed heavy construction machinery, rescue personnel and local residents gathered around the collapsed structure as efforts continued to reach those trapped beneath it.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact number of casualties or injuries. Officials said rescue operations are ongoing and teams are working to safely extract workers believed to be trapped under the overturned crane.
Preliminary reports suggest strong winds and adverse weather conditions may have contributed to the accident, though the exact cause will be determined after an official investigation.
The flyover forms part of the infrastructure network being developed around the upcoming Jewar Airport, one of India’s largest greenfield aviation projects.
