'I Wish India Mein Aisa Hota': Indian Woman Left Speechless After Korean Neighbour Seeks Permission Before Renovation

An Indian woman living in South Korea was impressed after she saw that her neighbour sought permission not just from her but from every family living on the same floor before beginning renovation work inside their apartment. She said that their neighbour stuck a letter, along with a pen outside each one of their apartments to seek permission.

Taking to Instagram, the woman named Himani explained that upon returning home from work, she found a piece of paper and a pen attached to the door of her apartment. After translating the notice, she realised that a neighbour was planning construction work inside their apartment and had informed all nearby residents in advance.

“Construction ka kaam jo hai wo 30 tarik se agle mahine ke 28 tarikh tak kaam chalega

aur ye aapka consent maang rahe hai kyunki aapko chote mote issues ho sakte hai jaise dhool, mitti ya drill ki awaaz (The construction work will continue from the 30th to the 28th of next month and they are asking for consent because we may have small issues, such as dust, mud, or the sound of drilling),” she explained.

While the consent form itself caught her attention, it was another detail that left her particularly amused. “Funny thing is ye log pen bhi paper ke saath chipka ke gaye hai (The funny thing is they have stuck the pen with the paper),” she said, explaining that they did this so no one has to go inside and find a pen.

The woman then showed that identical notices, each with a pen attached, had been placed outside every apartment on the floor.

“Korea truly goes the extra mile!” she wrote in the caption. “I was so impressed to see how they ask for consent before starting construction, keeping everyone informed about possible disruptions. But what really amazed me? They even attach a pen with the notice so you can sign right away! Such a small detail, yet so thoughtful and efficient.”

The video has since garnered much attention on the platform, with many users praising the thoughtful approach and saying it reflected a strong culture of respecting others, while others wanted similar things in India.
