Jun 3 (PTI) The Goa government will soon issue orders to regularise more than 5,000 houses under its Mhaje Ghar scheme, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Wednesday.
Around 3,000 orders of regularisation are either ready or have been issued, he told reporters here.
The Mhaje Ghar scheme aims to provide legal ownership rights to the residents of unauthorized houses built decades earlier on government or community land.
A special program will be held on Thursday at Ravindra Bhavan in Margao to distribute orders to some 1,000 people, Sawant said, adding that there will be special counters to help the beneficiaries complete the formalities. PTI RPS KRK
