Raghav Juyal is riding high on the success of The Ba***ds Of Bollywood. His comic timing has once again become the talk of the town. Needless to say, the dancer-turned-actor is going viral on social media.
His biggest takeaway from the Shah Rukh Khan produced series is his camaraderie and creative collaboration with Aryan Khan. It’s no secret that the superstar’s son went through his own share of ordeal back in 2021. But Raghav believes that it has only made him stronger.
“He’s a very confident person. Aryan Khan is something else. I can relate to him a lot. You can’t break him. Usko tum todne jaaoge toh woh aur ubhke bahar aa jaayega. He’s a different breed. Paisa waise kuch nahi… uska alag mamla hai, yaar. It takes years for a director to find their voice. But he knew what he wanted. Usne bahot kuch jhhela hai. He’s a brilliant director. It’s crazy!” Raghav tells News18 Showsha exclusively.
What has also impressed him is that despite being an insider, Aryan has been able to satirise Bollywood clichés through the lens of an outsider. Attributing it to the environment in Mannat, Raghav shares, “That’s the kind of atmosphere that’s there in their home. Aryan’s cousins are all from Delhi. They’ve a relative in Dehradun who they refer to as kaka uncle. He’s in Delhi now. We also know him. They speak in Hindi and Urdu at home. I’ve never seen anyone speaking in Hindi at home in Mumbai.”
Though Aryan’s a Bandra boy, Raghav reveals that he was very sure he wasn’t making The Ba***ds Of Bollywood for the elite folks of South Mumbai. “He knows his roots well and that’s why he has been able to capture that local essence even in the series. He used to always say that this show isn’t meant for just Bandra or SoBo folks but also for the whole of India. That way, it’s a true-blue pan-Indian show,” he says.
So, how is he taking in all the love coming his way? “My phone hasn’t stopped ringing. It’s crazy, man! I can’t believe the kind support I’ve been receiving from everyone in this industry! Janhvi (Kapoor), Ananya (Panday), Shanaya (Kapoor), Raju (Rajkumar Hirani) sir, Vidhu (Vinod Chopra) sir, Anurag (Kashyap) sir – everyone has called me. I feel so happy to have been able to do a series like The Ba***ds Of Bollywood and a film like Kill that have led all the doors in Bollywood to open up for me.”
Raghav further continues, “Now, they can see me in every character. I’m thankful that I’m not being stereotyped. It’s rare. I’m so happy. I’ve worked so hard to achieve this. I worked for 24 hours on the sets and created scenes with Aryan. I knew this would happen. My instincts are very strong. Mujhe pata hota hai aur mujhe pata chal gaya tha ki hum kuch kamaal kar rahe hai. Aryan gave me such a great opportunity with The Ba***ds Of Bollywood.”
