Bengaluru, Jun 20 (PTI) In view of the NEET-UG re-exam scheduled to be held on June 21, Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge on Saturday said that facilitating the smooth travel of students to their examination centers has been accorded top priority.
He conveyed his best wishes to all students appearing for the NEET exam and advised them to take note of traffic advisories issued by the Traffic Police and plan their travel so as to reach their examination centres well before the scheduled reporting time.
Taking to social media platform ‘X’, the minister shared the advisory issued by the Bengaluru Traffic Police.
“In case of any difficulty related to traffic or transportation, they should contact the Traffic Control Room and seek assistance. Best
wishes to all students appearing for the NEET examination,” he said.
For assistance regarding traffic and transportation, the minister suggested students and the public to contact the Traffic Control Room at 2294 3131 or 2294 3030.
According to him, on the same day, various events, including International Yoga Day celebrations, marathon events, and major programmes of political parties, are scheduled to be held in different parts of Bengaluru city.
In this regard, the minister said that traffic arrangements and diversions have been made keeping in mind the convenience of students and the general public.
“With a view to ensuring the smooth and orderly movement of traffic for the public, the Bengaluru Traffic Police have implemented certain traffic restrictions and diversions in and around the areas where these events are being held,” the advisory stated.
The National Testing Agency on May 12 cancelled the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate), NEET-UG, held on May 3 amid allegations of paper leak. The re-examination is scheduled for June 21. PTI AMP KH
