NIIT Q1 profit surges 85 pc to Rs 8.1 crore

New Delhi, Jul 21 (PTI) Technology-focused training firm NIIT Ltd on Tuesday reported an 85 per cent rise in its consolidated profit after tax to Rs 8.1 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, driven by new AI programmes and cost management. ​ The company had posted a profit after tax of Rs 4.4 crore in the same period a year ago, NIIT said in a statement.

NIIT posted a 14 per cent increase in net revenue to Rs 95.7 crore during the quarter under review, up from Rs 84.1 crore in the same period a year ago.

“Technology programmes, which make up 71 per cent of revenue, continued to grow strongly, achieving revenue of Rs 680 million, up 16 per cent YoY. Growth was driven by new AI programs launched by NIIT for IT services companies and Global

Capability Centres in India, helping employees build AI capabilities and prepare for emerging AI-led roles,” NIIT said.

The enterprise business, which contributes 65 per cent of total revenue, grew 8 per cent year-on-year. The consumer business, accounting for 35 per cent of the total revenue, recorded a 27 per cent YoY growth in the June quarter. ​ “The integration of RPS Consulting and IFBI into NIIT further strengthens our Enterprise and Consumer portfolios and enhances our ability to address the growing demand for AI-led capability building among enterprises. This performance reflects the early benefits of our investments in products, platform and go-to-market capabilities and gives us confidence in the growth opportunities ahead,” NIIT vice chairman and managing director Vijay K Thadani said.

BFSI (banking, financial services and insurance) and other programmes, which contributed the balance 29 per cent, grew 9 per cent to Rs 27.7 crore, driven by improved fresher hiring by partner banks, even as lateral training remained under pressure.
