Aamir Khan’s ex-wife, Kiran Rao, has given fans a health update after undergoing appendix surgery. She shared a post on Instagram revealing that she was gearing up to welcome 2026 when she faced a sudden

health scare. She shared photos from the hospital and expressed her gratitude for the medical care she received. She thanked the doctors and the staff at the hospital, as well as her friends and family members for checking up on her. Kiran Rao revealed that she has now been discharged and is recovering at home.

On Sunday, Kiran Rao took to her Instagram to share a series of pictures from the hospital. The first photo shows a glimpse of the view from Kiran’s hospital room, while the next shows a selfie of her inside the room. In the picture, her lips appear plumped, and in her caption, she explained that it was due to a temporary allergic reaction. The third photo shows her name on the hospital ID tag, while the last photo shows her enjoying a meal at the hospital.

In the caption, Kiran Rao wrote, “Here I was, all ready to party my way into 2026, when my appendix sent me a reminder to slow down, breathe deep, and give thanks. Immense gratitude for: modern medicine (still can’t understand how that whole 12mm dia appendix came out through a 10.5mm catheter, thank God I’m not a doctor), Dr Kayomarz Kapadia and the whole surgical team, Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital’s super care, my friends and family who came around to laugh at my plumped lips – an allergic reaction, sadly they’re back to normal and unglam now.”

She further added, “Well, I’ve been discharged and I’m back home, ready to ease myself into the new year. 2025 has been good to me and mine, and here’s hoping 2026 will be kind, fun, full of love – AND BETTER AQI – for all. PS – the pics are: views from my hosp room, my Kim K lips, my name on the hospital ID tag, and me enjoying one of my first meals.”

Soon after Kiran Rao shared the post, Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan dropped red heart emojis. Ira’s husband Nupur Shikhare, and actress Aditi Rao Hydari also showered love and dropped heart emojis on the post. Tillotama Shome commented, “So glad you are better now. I like your non-KK lips too,” while Viineet Kumar Siingh wrote, “Wishing you a speedy recovery.” Many fans flooded the comments section with wishes for her speedy recovery.

Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan got married in 2005. They welcomed their son, Azad Rao Khan, in 2011 via surrogacy. They got divorced in 2021 but maintain a friendly bond.
