Irvine (Scotland), Jul 22 (PTI) Diksha Dagar alongside Avani Prashanth and Pranavi Urs will lead the Indian challenge as the Ladies European Tour returns to action after a two-week break with the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open at the Dundonald Links near here.
The tournament, co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the LPGA Tour, also gives the players a chance to get to the LPGA with a win here.
A year ago Lottie Woad won on her professional debut at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open.
The now World No. 5 had a quick rise to the top winning on the LET at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open as an amateur before securing her LPGA card, turning professional, and then securing victory in Scotland.
Woad returns to Dundonald Links this year with
another LPGA Tour title under her belt and is excited to be back.
Diksha is having a great run this season.
Though Diksha has not added to her two LET wins, she has come close often.
She has had three Top-10 finishes in last four events — T-9 in Jabra Ladies Open de France, T-3 at Dutch Ladies and T-7 at Hulencourt Ladies.
In between she was T-12 at Czech Ladies, which she has won in the past.
A win will change Diksha’s career path and this season she has five Top-10s and three other results of T-21 or better.
She is eighth on the LET Order of Merit and a good finish this week can push her up even further.
Her best has been third in 2023 and she was 25th last year.
The event sees a field of 144 players representing 33 nationalities teeing it up from July 23-26.
With the UK having been in a heatwave recently, the course is playing a little differently than last year.
In a repeat of 2025, Woad will be playing alongside world No. 1 Nelly Korda and England’s Charley Hull for the first two days in Scotland. PTI COR TAP
