21-year-old Mukul Choudhary played one of the best IPL knocks of all time on Thursday in Kolkata to help Lucknow Super Giants secure a 3-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders. In the IPL 2026 match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, the right-handed batter from Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan, who secured a deal worth Rs 2.60 crore from LSG in the IPL 2026 auction, played an unbeaten knock of 54 runs from 27 balls to help LSG chase down the target of 182 runs on the last ball of the match. During his stay at the crease, Mukul hammered 2 fours and 7 sixes for the Lucknow-based franchise. The seven maximums by Mukul against KKR helped him become only the second batter in IPL history to slam 7 sixes as a No. 7 or lower batter in the second innings of an IPL match.
Before Mukul, only Dwayne Bravo of the West Indies had managed to slam 7 sixes as a No. 7 or lower batter in the second innings of an IPL match. Bravo achieved that feat for Chennai Super Kings in the 2018 IPL match against Mumbai Indians, which was played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 7, 2018.
