Virat Kohli, one of the most popular sportspersons on the planet, seems to have taken a break from Instagram. His official account on the social media platform has been disabled, with a basic search giving
a “user not found” result. Naturally, his millions of followers have a lot of questions, and some of them have their own “theories” behind the unexpected development.
Some have turned to Kohli‘s wife, Anushka Sharma, for answers. The popular actor’s Instagram account is flooded with queries on the well-being of one of the finest cricketers India has produced.
Others are busy predicting the “real reason” why Kohli may have deactivated his account.

Kohli’s Diminishing Activity On Social Media
There was a time when Kohli regularly shared updates from his personal and professional life with his followers on social media. Clips from his training sessions on the field or in the gym used to be an instant hit. However, over the years, he has steadily stepped away.
Last year, Kohli explained the reason behind him becoming less active on social media.
“Technology, when not attached to a goal, can be quite distracting. It is something I have experienced in my playing career. Luckily, I grew up in a time when you didn’t have this thing in your pocket (smartphone). It is much easier to keep it on the side,” Kohli said.
When Will Kohli Be Back On The Field?
Kohli was recently seen in action during the three-match ODI series between India and New Zealand. The batting superstar continued his excellent form during the three matches, scoring 240 runs from three innings at an average of 80 and a strike-rate of 105.26.
Kohli is now enjoying some time away from the game and will make his competitive return with the IPL 2026, where he will be representing defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
