Kumar Kushagra Marks Duleep Trophy Final Hundred With Viral Violin Celebration | Watch

Star Gujarat Titans wicketkeeper-batter Kumar Kushagra celebrated his coveted century in the Duleep Trophy final with a violin celebration at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, a video of which has gone viral on social media.

Kushagra brought up his hundred from 128 deliveries with a single off Shreyas Gopal on the first ball of the 100th over, guiding the length delivery towards the leg side.

Kushagra marked the milestone with a unique celebration, holding his bat like a violin and pretending to play it. Watch the video here:

Kushagra

was dismissed soon after reaching his hundred, scoring 101 off 132 deliveries, with eight boundaries and five sixes. His departure left East Zone at 471/5 in the 101st over.

Opting to bat first, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi put on a 100-run opening partnership before the latter was dismissed by Chama Milind in the 15th over.

Easwaran (72) and Shikhar Mohan then added 33 runs for the second wicket before the former was run out by Devdutt Padikkal and Narayan Jagadeesan in the 25th over.

East Zone soon found themselves at 147/3 before Mohan and skipper Ishan Kishan added 94 runs for the fourth wicket. After the former was dismissed by Milind in the 53rd over, Ishan and Kushagra built a 230-run partnership for the fifth wicket before the latter was dismissed by Tripurana Vijay.

Ishan and Anukul Roy then built a 140-run partnership for the sixth wicket before the former had to retire hurt on 250 in the 131st over.

The stand between Ishan and Kushagra can prove to be a title-winning partnership, with East Zone at 626/6 at tea on Day 2 of play.

East Zone are looking to end a 13-year-long jinx to win a Duleep Trophy title.
