Sep 7 (PTI) A labourer was beaten to death inside a civic-run public toilet in Kapurbawdi area of Thane, a police official said on Monday.
The accused, identified as Raman Mishra, the brother of the toilet facility contractor, and his friend Prahlad Gaud, tried to hide the body of Raju Gujarathi (40) in a nearby drain, the official added.
“He was killed late Sunday night amid an argument with the two. They banged his head against a wall and hit him with a floor tile. After he died, they threw his body into a drain and covered the corpse with cement bags, garbage etc,” he said.
The body was recovered, following which Mishra and Goud were booked for murder and other offences.
Efforts are on to nab the duo, the official added. PTI COR BNM
