British National Found Dead In Patna Hotel Room, Probe Underway

A 76-year-old Indian-origin British national was found dead in a hotel room in the Jakkanpur area of Bihar’s Patna, said the police on Tuesday.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Ajay Kumar Sharma. He had been staying at the hotel since January 18. On Monday, around 4 P.M., a hotel staff member knocked on his door, but the man didn’t open the door.

He was not answering phone calls, either. The staff member then alerted the police. When the security personnel eventually reached the hotel, they broke open the door only to find the man lying dead in his bed.

Forensic experts have collected evidence from the room, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).

Meanwhile, the deceased’s

family in London has been informed of the incident.
