Azamgarh (UP), Jul 23 (PTI) Senior Samajwadi Party MLA Alam Badi Azmi passed away here at the age of 92, his family said on Thursday.
The five-time MLA from the Nizamabad Assembly constituency in Azamgarh district breathed his last at his residence in the city’s Kurmi Tola locality on Wednesday night, his son Mustajab Alam told PTI.
Azmi had been unwell for some time, family sources said.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav condoled the demise of the veteran MLA.
“The passing of Janab Alam Badi Sahib — a senior Samajwadi Party leader and the popular MLA from the Nizamabad constituency in Azamgarh — is deeply saddening! May God grant peace to the departed soul. May the bereaved family find the strength to bear this immense grief. Heartfelt tributes!”
