Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced that India and the Nordic nations have agreed to upgrade their ties to a Green Technology and Innovation Strategic Partnership, aimed at expanding cooperation in clean energy, green transition, trade, investment and the blue economy.
Speaking after the 3rd India-Nordic Summit in Oslo, Prime Minister Modi said India and the Nordic countries would continue working together to uphold the rules-based international order. The summit was attended by leaders from Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Sweden.
“Our shared commitment to democracy, rule of law, and multilateralism makes us natural partners,” PM Modi said.
“Today, we decided to elevate India-Nordic relations to a Green Technology and Innovation
Strategic Partnership. With this green technology partnership, we will ensure a better future for the entire world,” the Prime Minister added.
India will keep working with the Nordic nations for:
More trade and investment.
Sustainable growth.
Greater innovation.
Climate action.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared the eight outcomes of the summit in a post on X. The post was reshared by PM Modi.
The leaders also exchanged views on ongoing global conflicts and geopolitical tensions.
“In this era of global tensions and conflicts, India and the Nordic nations will continue to work together to strengthen the rules-based global order. Whether it is Ukraine or West Asia, we will continue to support the earliest resolution of conflicts and efforts towards peace,” the PM remarked.
He further noted that both sides agreed on the urgent need for reforms in multilateral institutions.
Earlier, the Indian leader said in a post on social media that discussions focused on sustainability, innovation, clean energy, emerging technologies and strengthening cooperation for a peaceful and prosperous future.
“India and the Nordic countries are united by shared democratic values, trust and a common commitment towards human-centric development,” he further said.
