Nanded (Maharashtra), Jul 22 (PTI) Local police have rescued a minor girl from Punjab who had been allegedly kidnapped during a visit to the city and arrested a man, an official said on Wednesday.
The girl, a resident of Ferozepur, arrived in Nanded on July 4 with her parents for a religious visit, he said.
After she was abducted, her parents lodged a complaint with Wazirabad Police Station. Police launched a probe under their Operation Muskan initiative to trace missing children, the official said.
The girl was finally traced to Dodra village in Samana tehsil of Patiala district in Punjab on July 16 and reunited with her family.
Based on her statement, accused Jaspal Singh Avatar Singh (23), a resident of Dodra village, was arrested for alleged
kidnapping.
