'We Have To Have A Very Strong Sense Of Self': Ananya Panday On Need For Body Positivity

Ananya Panday has been impressing audiences with the choice of work that she has been doing. The actress, who will next be seen in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri opposite Kartik Aaryan, is currently

on a promotional spree. In a recent interview, the actress spoke about body positivity and shared her thoughts on the same.

Speaking to brut.india, Ananya, while sharing that she is quite vocal about the need for body positivity, said, “I have always been very, very vocal about the fact that we have to have a very strong sense of self and be confident in whatever shape and size we are. As a girl, you go through so many changes in your body. It’s like every month, you have your periods and you feel bloated. There are so many different phases we go through, so I have always been open about it.”

“Like today, I have my period, so I was like, I don’t want to wear anything too tight. I’m just going to be in jeans and will try to be as chill as possible. I speak very honestly about how I’m feeling. I don’t get into over-editing photos or touching them up,” Ananya continued.

Ananya further spoke about how she follows a certain diet only when needed and said, “When it comes to the film Tu Meri Main Tera, everyone’s like, ‘Oh, you look so fit,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I worked for it. It’s not like I am naturally like that.’ I had to follow a very strict diet, and I was working out every single day. Now I don’t have to be a certain way for a role, so I’m enjoying my food.”

The trailer opens with the introduction of the main characters. They’re on vacation and happen to stay in the same location, which leads to them becoming friends later. They eventually fall in love, but with an emotional twist. Many people are overjoyed with their new romance. Tu Meri Main Tera Tu Meri is directed by Sameer Vidwans, who previously collaborated with Kartik in Satyaprem Ki Katha.

Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures are the film’s producers, along with Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Shareen Mantri Kedia, Kishor Arora, and Bhumika Tewari. Tu Meri Main Tera Tu Meri will be released in theatres on December 25, which coincides with Christmas. In addition to the starring pair, the film stars Neena Gupta, Jackie Shroff, and Tiku Talsania in supporting roles.
