Kolkata, May 28 (PTI) West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday morning left for Mayapur to visit the ISKCON headquarters and interact with monks at the shrine.
Tight security arrangements have been put in place in and around Mayapur ahead of Adhikari’s visit, with a large deployment of police personnel and barricading at key entry points, officials said.
The CM is scheduled to meet ISKCON monks and members of the temple management during the visit, they said.
Adhikari is expected to stay in Mayapur for a few hours.
A large number of devotees and locals gathered near the temple premises since morning to catch a glimpse of the chief minister.
