KL Rahul (56 from 42 balls) and Abishek Porel (51 from 31 balls) played brilliant knocks on Sunday (May 17) to help Delhi Capitals chase down the target of 194 runs in 19.2 overs and win their 13th league match of IPL 2026 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi against Rajasthan Royals by 5 wickets.
The big win over the Riyan Parag-led side has kept DC alive in the IPL 2026 playoffs race, but their chances of finishing in the top four are still on a knife’s edge. In addition to winning their last league fixture against Kolkata Knight Riders by a very big margin, DC will also have to remain dependent on the results of other teams.
As of now, DC are 7th in the points table with 12 points from 13 matches played so far. Rajasthan Royals also have 12 points to
their credit, but due to poor net run rate, they have now dropped to 6th in the IPL 2026 points table. Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, are now 5th in the points table with 12 points.
Earlier on Sunday, RCB faced Punjab Kings in their 13th league match and secured a win by 23 runs. The run over Shreyas Iyer’s men in the match played at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala helped RCB become the first team to officially qualify for the IPL 2026 playoffs.
