South African wicketkeeper-batter Lizelle Lee’s second straight fifty on Wednesday (January 14) helped Delhi Capitals chase down the target of 155 runs in 19.4 overs and secure their first points in the ongoing 2026 edition of the Women’s Premier League. The 33-year-old right-handed batter opened the innings for the Jemimah Rodrigues-led side at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and scored 67 runs from 44 balls. During her stay at the crease, she slammed 8 fours and 3 sixes and added 94 runs for the first wicket with Shafali Verma, who made 36 runs.
But despite securing their first win of WPL 2026 by 7 wickets, Delhi Capitals remain fourth in the points table, whereas after losing three matches in a row, UPW remain at the bottom of the points table, and
their chances of qualifying for the playoffs are in danger.
The Meg Lanning-led side need to win all five of their remaining matches to keep their hopes of winning the maiden WPL title alive.
