After what feels like a never-ending wait (and multiple “is it releasing or not?” moments), Love Insurance Kompany is finally ready to make it to the big screen. And yes, this time, the date seems locked.
Director Vignesh Shivan confirmed that the film will release worldwide on April 10, 2026. The announcement came on March 28 through his Instagram handle, where he shared a quirky video featuring music composer Anirudh Ravichander and lead actor Pradeep Ranganathan. The caption read, “LIK from April 10. Trust Me Bro.”
The film’s journey to release has been anything but straightforward. Initially slated for September 18, 2025, the project saw multiple reschedules over the months. It was first pushed to October for a Diwali release, then moved to December
18, 2025, to avoid clashing with Pradeep Ranganathan’s other film Dude.
There were also plans for a Valentine’s Day weekend release in February 2026, which did not go ahead. More recently, the film was expected to arrive on April 3 before being postponed again to April 10. Reports suggest the latest delay was due to the makers not securing a censor certificate from Malaysia in time, as the board was closed for Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

The repeated delays have not gone unnoticed online. Social media reactions have ranged from relief to humour, with one widely shared comment joking about the film’s shifting timeline: “Plot twist: 10th April 2040,” referencing its futuristic setting.
Directed by Vignesh Shivan, Love Insurance Kompany is a science fiction romantic comedy set in the year 2040. The film features Pradeep Ranganathan, S J Suryah and Krithi Shetty in lead roles, with a supporting cast that includes Yogi Babu, Seeman, Gouri G Kishan, Shah Ra, Mysskin and Anandaraj.
The story centres on a man whose relationship is threatened by a powerful corporate system. He finds himself at odds with Suriyan, the CEO of a dating platform that treats love as a measurable and controlled commodity using predictive technology. The narrative follows his attempt to protect his relationship in a world where emotions are analysed and monetised.
Music for the film has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his fourth collaboration with Vignesh Shivan after Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Thaanaa Serndha Koottam and Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.
The film also carries significant expectations due to Pradeep Ranganathan’s track record at the box office. The actor has maintained a 100 per cent success rate in Tamil cinema so far, with all his films turning profitable, including his recent release Dude, which emerged as a major commercial success.
Love Insurance Kompany is produced by Nayanthara’s Rowdy Pictures in association with Seven Screen Studio, and is among the more closely followed Tamil releases of the upcoming summer season.
