Satna, Jul 30 (PTI) A 41-year-old ailing passenger died on board an Uttar Pradesh-bound train from Mumbai on Thursday, and his body was taken off after the train reached the Satna railway station in Madhya Pradesh, police said.
Government Railway Police (GRP) outpost in-charge Rajesh Raj said railway authorities in Jabalpur alerted the Satna GRP that Rajendra Yadav, travelling on berth number 12 in coach S-8 of the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Ballia Kamayani Express, was seriously ill.
The train reached Satna around 12 noon, where a railway doctor examined Yadav inside the coach and declared him dead.
Co-passengers told the police that Yadav had shown no movement after the train crossed nearby Maihar station.
The GRP shifted the body to the district
hospital mortuary for the post-mortem examination, and informed the family of the deceased, Raj said.
He said Yadav, a native of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, had been unwell. His younger brother had helped him board the train in Mumbai. PTI COR LAL NP
