Senuran Muthusamy is playing for South Africa in the ongoing first Test against Pakistan. In the match which kicked off at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday (October 12), he picked up 6 wickets for 117 runs in the first innings and 5 wickets for 57 runs in the second innings. The five-wicket haul in both innings helped him become only the second bowler in the world to take five-wicket hauls in both innings of a Test match played against the Pakistani team in Pakistan.
The first-ever Test match in Pakistan was played at Bahawal Stadium in Bahawalpur from January 15 to 18 in 1955, and in the last 70 years, only one bowler before Muthusamy managed to take at least five wickets in both innings of a Test match against Pakistan in Pakistan. That
feat was achieved by Nick Cook.
In March 1984 at Karachi, while playing for England, Cook picked up 6 wickets for 65 runs in the first innings and 5 wickets for 18 runs in the second innings.
A total of four more non-Pakistani bowlers have managed to take a 10-wicket haul in a Test match in Pakistan, but none of them were able to take at least five wickets in both innings.
